Main South Business Association

  • MSBA is an alliance of local businesses from the Main South commercial corridor that works to promote further economic development within the Main South community.
  • MSBA brings together businesses in the neighborhood to share knowledge and resources and create a coalition to advocate for the community’s interests. It provided assistance to members and the community through the pandemic and now is focused on moving the business community forward into the future.
  • Currently the MSCDC and MSBA are working together to build 6 new storefronts.

For more information, visit the MSBA Facebook here.

Neighborhood Strings

Neighborhood Strings is a community-based program of the Worcester Chamber Music Society (WCMS) that offers free music lessons in violin, viola, and cello to youth from Worcester’s Downtown and Main South neighborhoods. The program provides affordable, high-quality arts education and is open and accessible to the neighborhoods. Youth learn to make music together with musicians and friends. In the process, they discover a creative outlet that hones life skills like discipline, cooperation, imagination, and leadership. Click here to visit their website.

WAMS Playgroup

Play Group Plus is a pre-Kindergarten program primarily for three- and four-year-olds in the Main South area of Worcester run by the Worcester Area Mission Society (WAMS) and Worcester Family Partnership. These are groups for children and their parents/caregivers, because they help the grownups gain skills in doing activities with their kids. Younger siblings are welcome as well!  Grab-and-go lunches are provided for everyone. Anyone interested should contact Vanessa Ramos, WAMS Director of Programs. Click here to visit their website.
